A. The following Terms and Conditions contain assumptions of risk and/or liability by Customers and limit and exclude liabilities, obligations and legal responsibilities which Mobile Telephone Networks Proprietary Limited (“MTN”) will have towards Customers and other persons. Please note that as of June 2026, the provisions of clauses 1.2 and 3.5 have been amended. 

B. These Terms and Conditions also limit and exclude Customers rights and remedies against MTN and place various risks, liabilities, obligations and legal responsibilities on the Customer. 

C. These Terms and Conditions may result in Customers being responsible for paying additional costs and amounts and MTN may also have claims and other rights against the Customer. 

D. To the extent that the Terms and Conditions or any goods or services provided under the Terms and Conditions are governed by the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“the CPA”), no provision of these Terms and Conditions is intended to contravene the applicable provisions of the CPA. Therefore, all provisions of the Terms and Conditions must be treated as being qualified, to the extent necessary, to ensure that the applicable provisions of the CPA are complied with. 

E. Please pay special attention to all the clauses. These Terms and Conditions are subject to and must be read together with your Subscriber Contract Terms and Conditions, Post-paid Price Plan Terms and Conditions, Prepaid Price Plan Terms and Conditions; and Product/Service Terms and Conditions

1.1. MTN Super Data price plan is specifically designed for new prepaid and existing MTN customers looking for a price plan that offers exclusive big data bundles for mobile and routers devices. This price plan is a rich super data price plan for your mobile device and home at an affordable price. 

1.2. The MTN Super Data price plan includes the following existing bundles:

Anytime Data

1.3. Booster Bundle 
Super Data customers qualify for a booster bundle when they purchase a Super Data bundle of R269 or more.

1.4. Customers receive value adds when they activate their new prepaid MBB/Mi-Fi router with any new MTN sim card. 

1.5. MTN Super Data bundles can be used on any device (mobile or router) and are purchasable on the below channels:

1.5.4. MTN Branded Stores

1.5.5. Informal Channel

The MTN Super Data Out of Bundle (OOB) rates   

These rates apply once your bundle has been depleted.

2.1. MTN Super Data price plan will be available to all new and existing MTN prepaid customers.

2.2. To be able to purchase the MTN Super Data bundles, customers must use a Rica-activated sim card and then migrate to the MTN Super Data price plan. Customers can migrate to the MTN Super Data price plan: 

2.2.1. By dialing *137# and select migrate to Super Data price plan or

2.2.2. By logging into your MTN App select >Profile> Plans> Switch>MTN Super Data 

2.2.3. Through MTN Branded Retail Stores or 

2.2.4. By calling MTN Customer Service on 135                                                                                                               

3.1. Customers who migrate to the MTN Super Data price plan will forfeit the Bonus Bonanza “Recharge and Get” or any other price plan benefits. 

3.2. New and existing MTN customers will be able to migrate to the MTN Super Data price plan. 

3.3. MTN customers who have migrated to the MTN Super Data Price plan will be allowed to migrate back to the default landing price plan (MTN Bonus Bonanza) or any other price plans.

3.4. Migration into MTN Super Data will apply the current standard migration rule which is limited to two changes per day and is free of charge.

3.5. If a customer on MTN Super Data migrates to another plan, they will forfeit any unused and unexpired MTN Super Data and Voice bundles.

3.6. Customers on the MTN Super Data price plan will be able to buy Super Data bundles for other MTN Super Data customers.

3.7. Customers on the Super Data price plan are allowed to buy multiple MTN Super Data bundles  which will run concurrently.

3.8. Data sharing on MTN Super Data bundles is not allowed.  

3.9. The MTN Super Data Bundles are anytime data.

3.10. Super Data customers will receive usage depletion notifications when your bundle usage reaches 50%, 80%, and 100%. You may opt out of these notifications via the MTN App.

3.11. Super Data Bundles do not carry over and will expire at the end of the validity period. 

3.12. Super Data Bundles do not carry over.  

4.1. As allowed by the Consumer Protection Act, MTN is not responsible for any loss or damage that you or anyone else may experience (whether direct or indirect) when using MTN’s services, unless the loss or damage was caused by MTN, or by MTN’s employees or agents, through their gross negligence.

4.2. This clause does not take away or reduce any rights, warranties, or obligations that the Consumer Protection Act gives you, or that MTN must provide under the Consumer Protection Act and must be interpreted accordingly.

4.3. You agree that, as allowed by the Consumer Protection Act, you will not hold MTN or any of its directors, officers, employees, or agents responsible for any loss or damage of any kind, whether direct, indirect, or consequential, that arises from your use of this service, including any network failures or interruptions. You also agree to indemnify MTN against any claims related to such losses or damages.

5.1. MTN reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue services, including subscription charges and fees, with reasonable notice to you.

MTN may suspend or terminate your services if we suspect that our services are being abused, or if we believe there is fraud, criminal or unlawful activity, improper use, a breach of our Terms and Conditions, or spam. We may also take such action if your use of the service places unreasonable strain on the MTN network in a way that could negatively affect other customers’ experience.
