MTN Combo Offers Product Terms and Conditions. NOTICE: Please note that as of 8th of March 2025 these Terms and Conditions have been amended/updated at clause 2.2 and 5.3.

A. The following Terms and Conditions contain assumptions of risk and/or liability by Customers and limit and exclude liabilities, obligations and legal responsibilities which Mobile Telephone Networks Proprietary Limited (“MTN”) will have towards Customers and other persons. 

B. These Terms and Conditions also limit and exclude Customers rights and remedies against MTN and place various risks, liabilities, obligations and legal responsibilities on the Customer. 

C. These Terms and Conditions may result in Customers being responsible for paying additional costs and amounts and MTN may also have claims and other rights against the Customer. 

D. Please pay careful attention to terms and conditions highlighted in bold text. 

E. To the extent that the Terms and Conditions or any goods or services provided under the Terms and Conditions are governed by the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (“the CPA”), no provision of these Terms and Conditions is intended to contravene the applicable provisions of the CPA. Therefore, all provisions of the Terms and Conditions must be treated as being qualified, to the extent necessary, to ensure that the applicable provisions of the CPA are complied with. 

F. You must read these Terms and Conditions. Your participation will constitute as an agreement to comply with these Terms and Conditions. 

G. Please pay special attention to all the clauses, especially the ones marked in bold.

1. General 

1.1 These Terms and Conditions must be read together with your Subscriber Agreement and / or Prepaid Terms and Conditions.

1.2 Your use of this Service will constitute your agreement with the Terms and Conditions.

1.3 The MTN Combo Offers will be available from 08th December 2020 until such time as MTN in its sole and absolute discretion elects to discontinue the Offer (the “Offer Period”).

1.4 Notwithstanding the Offer Period, MTN may, in its sole and absolute discretion, amend the duration of the Offer Period to a shorter or longer period, or withdraw the Bundles in its entirety, with notice to you. Visit www.mtn.co.za regularly for notices, updates and/or changes to services.

1.6 This Service is available on any local network within South Africa. Should you travel outside of South Africa standard International Roaming rates terms and conditions will apply. If you dial an international operator International Calling rates and terms and conditions will apply.

1.7 MTN Combo Offers is an All-In-One bundle solution with voice, data and video all neatly packaged into one bundle for customer’s convenience in an improved suite of Daily, Weekly and Monthly High Value customer proposition available through the following channels:

1.7.1 USSD (*136*2#);

1.7.2 MTN App; and

1.7.3 BRC.

1.8 MTN Combo offers are available to all Prepaid customers.

1.9 MTN packaged Night Express Data value will be available to use between 00:01 – 04:59 as a night data value within the borders of South Africa.

1.10 MTN packaged Video Data value will be available to use when accessing video services (NetFlix & Showmax) within the borders of South Africa.

1.11 MTN All-Net voice bundle allows customers to generate minutes of local voice calls to any local network, at any time of the day.

1.12 There is no carry-over of any unused MTN All-Net Bundle or any unused data value when a daily bundle is purchased before the expiry of an existing daily Bundle.

1.13 There is carry over of any unused MTN All-Net Bundle or any unused data bundle value when a succeeding Weekly or Monthly data is purchased before the expiry of an existing Weekly or Monthly data.

3. Out-of-bundle Settings 

3.1 In the event that the MTN Combo Offers has expired customers will be charged from their standard price plan rate.

3.2 The daily bundles are available as once off purchase.

3.3 The weekly and monthly bundles are available as once off and recurring bundles.

4. Depletion order 

4.1 The Daily MTN Combo bundle will be valid until 23:59 on date of activation.

4.2 The Weekly MTN Combo bundle will be valid until 23:59 on the 7th date of activation.

4.3 The Monthly MTN Combo bundle will be valid until 23:59 on the 30th date of activation.

4.1.1. If a customer has multiple offers of the MTN Weekly and Monthly bundles activated at the same time, the offer with earliest expiry date will be depleted first.

4.1.2. Once the MTN Combo bundle has expired, the customer will be charged from their standard price plan rate.

5. Migration 

5.1 If a customer performs a price plan migration, they will maintain their remaining unused data.

5.2 If a customer migrates to Post-paid from Prepaid, they will forfeit their unused data.

5.3 With regards to the 3 (three) days bundles product referenced in clause 2.2 above, migration between MTN prepaid price plans will retain any unused value remaining on the MTN data and voice except when they migrate to Super Flex and My MTN Home Prepaid LTE price plans.

6. Number portability 

6.1. You may port your mobile number to any other licensed network in South Africa.

6.2. To port your prepaid number customer must do the following:

Step 1: Buy any MTN Prepaid SIM card and RICA it.

Step 2: Find your MTN Kit number on the back of your new MTN Starter Pack.

Step 3: Keep your existing SIM card in your Cellphone.

Step 4: Use it to SMS ‘PORTME#’ and your MTN kit number to 083 767 8287.

Step 5: Once your old SIM is discounted, insert your new MTN SIM card.

6.3. Customer will get a confirmation SMS that their port was successful.

6.4. To port your post-paid number please go in store to apply.

6.5. When you port your post-paid number, you may have to pay early termination penalties in terms of your Subscriber Agreement.

6.6. If you port, all-inclusive and other value will be forfeited.

7. Terms of Use 

7.1. MTN reserves the right to terminate your services immediately where we suspect abuse on the MTN network or services, fraud, criminal activity or when your use of the service places an unreasonable constraint on the MTN network which may impact the experience of other MTN Customers.

8. Limitation of Liability 

8.1. MTN is not responsible for a service being interrupted and/or failing for any reason.

8.2. Subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, you indemnify MTN and their directors, officers, employees and agents, against any and all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever in connection with your use of this Service, network failure, or interruptions.
