MTN is obliged by law not to activate your SIM card on the MTN network if you have not complied with the RICA registration requirements. SIM and connection fee is charged as a once-off fee, unless otherwise stated. Contract subscription is billed monthly, in advance. Itemised billing (R21.00 pm) is optional on all contracts shown. Calling line identity (CLI) (R9.00 pm) is mandatory and is included in the monthly subscriptions shown. All data sessions are charged at a minimum of R0.03 (excluding VAT). Offers are only available to valid credit card and bank account holders, with a valid South Africa ID. When ordering, please have your credit card or bank account details available. Mastercard, Visa, Diners, and American Express cards are accepted. Remember your ID and proof of residence, or affidavit thereof, to register for RICA. Data speeds depend on the capability of the data device used, and the capability and capacity of the network at any given location and time. The stated data rates are only applicable in South Africa. Prices subject to change, and the price advised in store will be the final applicable price. All reduced monthly subscriptions are valid for the 24-month contract; thereafter, the full monthly subscription applies. MTN Sky: Price plans available from 01/10/2016. Subject to successful credit vetting. Available to MTN Contract customers only. Pricing is applicable to 24-month contracts. Inclusive Unlimited Voice, Unlimited SMSs, and data are for local use only. Unlimited Voice and SMSs are subject to MTN’s fair use policy (FUP). Data out-of-bundle rate will apply once the inclusive data is depleted. Inclusive data has a 2-month carryover. To manage monthly spend, subscribers can activate a subscriber usage limit (SUL). Migration rules apply.
My MTNChoice contracts: MTN Subscriber Contract Terms and Conditions apply. Subject to successful credit vetting. Pricing applicable to 24-month contracts. Bundles may be loaded as once-off or recurring bundles. To manage monthly spend, subscribers must activate a subscriber usage limit (SUL). My MTNChoice notification represents the amount remaining for a subscriber to use before reaching the usage limit. The default value for the My MTNChoice notification is R10.00 (ten rand), and may be changed by dialling 136, or via www.mtn.co.za.
MTN Night Express: Offer valid from 01/09/2014, and available on selected My MTNChoice data packages only (500MB, 1GB, 3GB, 5GB, 10GB, 20GB, 30GB, and 50GB). Night Express value may be used between 00:00 and 05:59 only. Night Express value is valid for 1 month, and received monthly for the duration of the contract period. Any unused Night Express value does not carry over. Upon the Night Express value being depleted, further usage will deplete at the base price plan data rates, or MTN Internet Bundle rate (if one is loaded).
My MTNChoice Flexi price plan: Offer available from 09/03/2015 to new MTN customers, and to those customers renewing or migrating to this offering. Customers should enquire in store as to whether they are eligible to migrate to this offering. Carryover value will be added to the respective wallet; however, carryover rules shall apply. Limit on customer charges is determined in accordance with MTN’s credit-vetting processes. Cancellation charges shall apply.
MTN Internet Data Bundles: Available until such time as advised by MTN. Available to MTN PayAsYouGo, MTN TopUp, and contract customers. Available to legacy MTN Data price plans that have set their self-service spend limit. Customers can purchase once-off (ad hoc) or monthly (recurring) data bundles by dialling *136*2#, calling 136, and following the service prompts, at MTN stores, at participating retailers, on www.mtn.co.za/selfservice, on the MyMTN app, or on mobisite (http://mymtn.co.za). Each data bundle will be valid until it is depleted or expired. Once the data bundle has been depleted or has expired, the customer will be billed for data usage at MTN’s standard out-of-bundle rates.
MTN Cash Deal offers can be purchased on selected handset/devices without a SIM card or RICA registration. MTN Cash Deal offers are subject to handset/device stock availability.
MTN Weekly Data Bundle promotion: Offer valid from 01/03/2015. Offer available to MTN PayAsYouGo, MTN TopUp, MTN Classic, and My MTNChoice customers. Not available to MTN Sky customers who are subscribed to an uncapped price plan. Offer shall be valid for 7 days from date of bundle activation. Offering excludes the 55 and 100% data Giveback Bundle value offering. No carryover of unused data shall apply.
MTN TopUp: Available from 01/08/2017 on My MTNChoice Flexi R55, R110, and R200, and MTN Made For Me S, M, L, and XL, as an MTN TopUp price plan. Available to new and upgrade devices. All deals subject to 24-month contract, device and SIM stock availability, RICA registration, and successful credit vetting. Inclusive value is for local usage only. Booster Bundles: Available from 01/10/2017. Subject to credit vetting and only available as a recurring bundle. Booster Bundles can only be loaded at the time of purchase by the service provider, and not through self-service. Customers are not allowed to load multiple Booster Bundles. Customers can cancel the bundle; once the Booster Bundle is cancelled, another Booster Bundle cannot be loaded for the remainder of the contract. Unused inclusive value will be carried over for a 2-month cycle.
Two-For-One deals: Available from 01/10/2017 – 31/08/2019. Get two contracts (device and price plan) for the price of one. Purchase participating MTN deals, and get a second handset and contract free. Second contract limited to selected devices only. The second contract will come to an end after the 24 months if not upgraded to a new contract. Subject to successful credit vetting. Pricing is applicable to 24-month contracts. Qualifying participants will receive bonus data value of 100MB (3G device) or 200MB (LTE device) every month for 6 months from date of activation. The bonus data bundle value will expire in 7 days. The promotion is available to customers who buy selected MTN data bundles and/or MTN voice bundles when they dial *142#. MTN SA will reward all prepaid customers who purchase these bundles with an additional free bundle of the same value. That means customers will receive double (100%) their data or voice bundle value for the price of one. The MTN Double Your Bundle promotional offers are valid as daily (one day), weekly (seven days) and monthly (thirty days) data and/or voice offers.
MTN Made To Share Terms and Conditions apply. Offer valid while stocks last. Prepaid MTN subscribers and non-MTN subscribers cannot be added. Free contract SIM cards will be given, but will not exceed the maximum number of member subscribers that can be linked as per the applicable price plan. Usage generated from the shareable wallet by added members that are not part of the main subscriber’s account will be visible to the main subscriber. MTN Smart S 3G device promotion is valid from 01/04/2019 – 31/08/2019. Applicable to all new MTN prepaid customers who purchase the MTN Smart S 3G device. The free promo inclusive 100MB data bundle is valid for 30 days, and the 1GB WhatsApp bundle is valid for 20 days. The customer will get the free data value for 6 months. The customer can only receive the offer once per MSISDN (new MTN PayAsYouGo SIM). The free promo inclusive data value will always deplete first before any purchased inclusive data value. The MTN Smart S is a dual-SIM device; however, the primary SIM slot is locked to MTN. This means, in order for the device to work, an MTN SIM must be placed in the primary slot.
MTN Chat will be available from the 12/03/2019, enabling customers to recharge on WhatsApp. Customers can buy airtime and data using a debit or credit card and view their balance. Customers will need to register to use the service.
