MTN Insurance offers cover for phones, laptops, data modems and SIM cards. The insured device is covered against loss, theft and damage including liquid damage

MTN Device Insurance offers cover for phones, laptops, data modems and SIM cards. The insured device is covered against loss, theft, accidental physical and accidental liquid damage.

MTN Device Insurance Benefits

  • Risk is transferred to Insurance in return for a monthly fixed premium
  • Insurance cover commences after telephonic confirmation.
  • We will endeavour to put the Client will be put back to the same situation s/he was before the loss
  • Customers have 30 days from date of incident within which to submit a claim
  • Customers have 14 days from date of activation within which to apply for insurance
  • For Post Paid: Insurance premium is billed together with the subscription / Contract fee, therefore there is no multiple invoices sent to the customer
  • For Pre Paid: Insurance premium is debited via direct debit order off of the elected bank account.
  • 360° hassle free process for repairs on damaged handsets
    • Door to door collection of damaged handsets from customer’s preferred address to the Repair center
    • Delivery of the repaired handset to customer’s preferred address

How do I apply for

Complete the Insurance Claim form which needs to be faxed to 086 498 5382 or emailed to mtnclaims@pinnaclemarketing.co.za

  • The excess for first claim within 12 months period is R350.00
  • Forsecond claim within 12 months period of previous claim, the excess is R750
  • If you claim for the third time within 12 months period of previous claims, the excess is R1000.
  • An additional excess of R300 will be payable for any claim occurring within 60 days of the inception date of the policy.

For Stolen or lost phone

  • Call 083 1 808 to suspend your phone as soon as a loss or theft has occurred.
  • NB: Device Insurance requires the case number or the incident number from the police station in order to process a claim. This should be obtained within 48 hours from date of incident.
  • Within 30 days from date of incident a claim must be lodged which can be done by;
    • Calling the insurance department insurance department on 083 123
    • Visting an MTN store where a claim form will be provided and forwarded to the Insurer.
    • Downloading a claim form off of the MTN website and submitting to the Insurer as specified on the form.

For damaged device

  • Within 30 days from date of incident a claim must be lodged which can be done by;
    • Calling the insurance department insurance department on 083 123
    • Visting an MTN store where a claim form will be provided and forwarded to the Insurer.
    • Downloading a claim form off of the MTN website and submitting to the Insurer as specified on the form.
    • If the claim is approved the device will be collected from your home or office and sent to the repair centre.
