Getting started at MTN

First choose a Service Provider. They will look after your account and connection to the MTN network, as well as sending you your monthly bill. Once you’ve done that, select a price plan and chose a cellphone. When you sign the contract, you will need to provide the following: Personal contract

  • ID
  • Proof of income
  • Cancelled cheque or bank statement
  • Physical address
  • Credit references
Business contract
  • Company order form
  • Three trade references
  • ID of person signing the contract
  • Cancelled company cheque

The default PIN codes 1 and 2 are 00000

With MTN 30-second billing, you are charged for the first 60 seconds and then in units of 30 seconds for the rest of your call.
