Title: 21 years of MTN Joyous Celebration

Well known for inspirational gospel compositions and uplifting spiritual experiences, MTN Joyous Celebration has been unrivalled for over two decades. And this year, which marks their 21st anniversary, #MTNJoyous21, is already promising to carry on this tradition.

Founded in 1994 by industry leaders, and musical friends, Lindelani Mkhize, Jabu Hlongwane and Mthunzi Namba, Joyous Celebration was formed to bring to life the trio’s dream of creating an inspirational project that would help uplift and heal the nation. Reflecting on the nation’s stirring transition during this time, the project strived to celebrate beautiful, local talent in turn changing lives and creating memorable experiences.

And so, MTN Joyous Celebration was born, comprising loving interpretations of existing spirituals, traditional hymns and original compositions.

Officially on tour with their 21st album titled ‘Heal Our Land’, MTN Joyous Celebration is reliving the past 21 years, as well as making new memories and joyous experiences. This year’s national journey, Tour 21, boasts a cast of fresh, raw talent from all round the country, giving audience members an unforgettable experience of both new and old gospel tunes.

About MTN Joyous Celebration:

Founded in 1994 by industry leaders, and musical friends, Lindelani Mkhize, Jabu Hlongwane and Mthunzi Namba, Joyous Celebration was formed in line with the trio’s dream to create and establish an inspirational project that would help to uplift and heal the nation. Reflecting on the nation’s stirring transition during this time, the project strived to celebrate beautiful, local talent in turn changing lives and creating memorable experiences.

And so, MTN Joyous Celebration was born, comprising loving interpretations of existing spirituals, traditional hymns and original compositions, all produced by the magical combination of its founder, empowering them to become South Africa’s, and possibly even the world’s, leading gospel ensemble.

Over the years, MTN Joyous Celebration has repositioned contemporary gospel music in South Africa landscape. Established 21 years ago, MTN Joyous Celebration has since become an inclusive household name synonymous with gospel music. MTN is a proud sponsor of MTN Joyous Celebration, and through this partnership, aims to bring the joy of gospel music to supporters across the nation, and beyond.
